Dr. Sarah Japa

Dr. Sarah Japa Khalsa is a transformative healer, educator, and leader, dedicated to restoring health and helping individuals live with vitality. As a post-lineage educator of Kundalini Yoga, she is committed to honoring the tradition's roots while fostering an inclusive, compassionate environment that respects and empowers all individuals. Dr. Khalsa stands with survivors and those harmed by the tradition, supporting transformation, repair, and healing within the community, and advocating for a nuanced approach to teaching that centers on the empowerment of the student.

Co-author of Enlightened Bodies, Dr. Khalsa offers a profound understanding of the body’s innate ability to self-heal. By blending energy medicine, yoga, and herbal practices, she guides individuals on their path of personal transformation. With a Bachelor of Science from Northwestern University and a Doctor of Oriental Medicine degree from the Midwest College of Oriental Medicine, she brings over 20 years of experience integrating alternative healing modalities such as acupuncture, yoga, IV therapy, and massage into modern healthcare.

As a Certified Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT), Dr. Khalsa empowers individuals through consultations that foster deep, lasting shifts in both body and mind. Her approach, grounded in truth, compassion, and inclusivity, addresses the root causes of imbalances, facilitating profound healing and transformation.

Dr. Khalsa also has a special focus on women’s health, offering support through meditation, yoga, and herbal remedies to empower women at every stage of life. Her mission is to help others reconnect with their inner healing power, fostering vitality, balance, and spiritual well-being for individuals of all genders, races, and backgrounds.

As a Doctor of Oriental Medicine, Dr. Khalsa is committed to helping individuals tap into the universal healing energy within them, restoring health, and promoting holistic well-being with kindness, compassion, and a deep respect for diversity, equity and inclusion as guiding principles.

She currently serves in the social sector as Development Director of Cooking with Kids as well as a part time healing practice at 3 Treasures Acupuncture and lives with her family in Santa Fe, caring for her patients, pets, teenager and community.
